Offlinguo is operated by Anes Khadiri, who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. This policy covers the Offlinguo app and website. Contact contact@offlinguo.com with privacy questions or requests.

Offlinguo is now available on the App Store. Check the App Store listing for availability in your country or region.

Offlinguo has no account, login, or translation service. Typed translation, voice input, Camera or photo translation, Talk, and Assistant run on your iPhone or iPad. Translation text, microphone audio, photos, and recognized text are not sent to Offlinguo.

A network connection can still be used to purchase or restore Premium, install Apple-managed translation or speech assets, or download the offline translator model. Those setup requests are separate from translation and do not include the content you translate.

The app uses PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for diagnostics. Those services receive limited usage and technical information, described below, separately from the content you translate.

We do not sell personal data, use translation content for advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Basic typed translation is free after setup and runs on your device. Supported language pairs can use Apple Translation with its required language resources before the optional Advanced Offline model is installed. Other supported routes use that downloaded model. If a language pair or its required resources are unavailable, Offlinguo shows the pair as unavailable instead of sending the request online.

When you choose voice input, Offlinguo uses only an Apple speech route that supports on-device recognition and requires recognition to stay on the device. Microphone audio and recognized text are processed on your device. If an on-device route is unavailable for the selected language, voice input remains unavailable. iOS or iPadOS controls the microphone and Speech Recognition access you grant to the app.

Talk uses on-device speech recognition and translation. Assistant processes your messages with the downloaded model and saves its conversations locally.

When you choose Camera or a photo, text recognition and translation happen on the device. Offlinguo does not upload the image or recognized text. iOS or iPadOS controls the camera and photo access you grant to the app.

Apple processes Premium subscriptions, existing Lifetime purchases, restores, offer-code redemption, and Apple-managed translation or speech assets under Apple’s terms. Offlinguo reads the verified StoreKit entitlement needed to unlock the purchased features. There is no Offlinguo entitlement server and no Offlinguo account identifier.

Offline translator files are obtained from the release-configured model distribution host. The current release supply chain uses Hugging Face. A download host can receive ordinary connection information such as an IP address, requested file, and request time. The request does not include translation text, images, or recognized text.

Translation History is on by default. While it is on, each successful translation from the Translate screen, including voice-entered text, is stored locally with its result, language pair, time, and translation engine. You can turn History off to stop new entries and use the in-app controls to remove saved translations. Phrasebook entries, Assistant conversations, app settings, and the offline model also remain in the app’s local storage. Apple Translation and speech assets are managed separately by iOS or iPadOS outside Offlinguo’s app container; their availability and removal follow Apple’s system controls and may not match deleting Offlinguo.

To keep purchased features available offline, Offlinguo locally caches verified purchase facts: product identifier and type, transaction and original transaction identifiers, purchase date, subscription expiration when applicable, and verification date. This purchase cache and the other local data above are not synchronized to an Offlinguo service.

Deleting the app removes its local container, subject to normal iOS or iPadOS behavior. The app also provides controls for removing downloaded model data and saved content.

Sentry processes crash reports, performance information and limited diagnostic events to help us find failures and improve reliability. These can include app and OS versions, device information, operation and error codes, language selections, durations and counts. Diagnostic fields are filtered to exclude translation text, OCR text, Assistant messages, photos, microphone audio, receipts and raw error messages.

Session replay, screenshot capture and view-hierarchy collection are disabled. Diagnostics may be queued while offline and sent after a connection returns. Apple may separately process App Store, crash and device diagnostics according to your Apple settings.

PostHog helps us understand setup, downloads, feature use and subscription purchase flows. We send selected events such as onboarding completion, a successful translation, a paywall view or a purchase outcome, along with limited categorical information and app/OS versions.

A random installation identifier and session identifiers can connect these events across visits. This is pseudonymous usage data, not an Offlinguo account. Analytics does not include the words you translate, Assistant conversations, OCR text, photos, microphone audio, receipts, transaction identifiers or precise location. Location enrichment, session replay and automatic screen or interaction recording are disabled.

Analytics events can be stored in a bounded local queue while offline and sent when a connection returns. Translation does not wait for analytics delivery. These events are used to understand the product, not to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Vercel hosts this static website and may process ordinary web request information such as IP address, requested page, browser information, and time. The site has no advertising trackers and does not perform translations.

If you email support, the mailbox provider processes your address, message, attachments, and reply history. Send translation text only when you want support to review it. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to answer the request and meet security, dispute, or legal obligations.

Apple handles App Store purchases and system-managed assets; Hugging Face hosts the offline model files; PostHog processes product analytics; Sentry processes diagnostics; Vercel hosts this website; and our email provider handles support correspondence. Each receives information for the purposes described above. These services may process information in countries other than where you live.

Translation content, saved phrases and Assistant conversations stay locally on your iPhone or iPad until you remove them or delete the app. Product analytics and diagnostic records are stored separately by PostHog and Sentry under the applicable project retention settings. Deleting the app removes its local container but does not itself delete records already received by those services.

Apple, the model distribution host, Vercel, and the support mailbox provider apply their own retention practices to purchase, asset-delivery, website, and correspondence data. To ask about access, correction or deletion of information we hold, including support correspondence and telemetry, email contact@offlinguo.com.

You can manage camera, microphone and speech permissions in your device’s Settings, turn off Translation History in Offlinguo, and remove saved content or downloaded model files with the app’s controls. These local controls do not delete information already sent to our service providers.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or object to or restrict its use. Send requests to contact@offlinguo.com. We may need enough information to verify your request and locate relevant records; we do not have an Offlinguo account directory that links your name to an installation identifier.

Offlinguo is not directed at children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information to us, contact support so we can investigate and address the request.
