Terms of Service

Offlinguo is provided for personal translation use. You are responsible for what you translate, and you agree not to use the app for unlawful purposes.

Some Offlinguo features require a paid subscription. Pricing and the length of the billing period are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency, and are the authoritative figures for your region.

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account and renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial period.

You can cancel at any time in Settings on your iPhone, under your Apple Account then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not shorten the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us. Requests go through Apple’s “Report a Problem” flow.

If we change subscription pricing, the change applies to future billing periods and Apple will ask for your consent where required before the new price takes effect.

Online translation depends on our service and on third-party providers being available, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may apply usage limits to keep the service available and affordable for everyone. The on-device engine continues to work without our servers.

The on-device engine is built on Google’s Gemma model and is provided subject to the Gemma Terms of Use, including its Prohibited Use Policy. By using the offline engine you agree to those restrictions, which apply in addition to these terms.

Translations are produced by machine learning models and will sometimes be wrong, including in ways that read as fluent and confident. Do not rely on Offlinguo for safety-critical, medical, legal, financial or immigration communication, or in any situation where a mistranslation could cause harm.

Not every language is supported offline, and quality varies by language pair. The app tells you which languages the on-device engine can serve.

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes and the updated terms are published here and in the app.
